The representation of vengeful deeds in DC Comics’ Dark Knights

This research investigates the representation of vengeful deeds done by Dark Knights and their reasons behind that vengeance. The theories of vengeful deed, dark desire, and Dark Tetrad are employed to analyze vengeful deeds of DC Comics’ Dark Knights in correlations with Dark Tetrad personality. Narcissism, psychopathy, Machiavellianism, and sadism are employed to analyze representation of vengeful deeds. Negligence, trauma, depression, and self-loathing are used to analyze the reasons behind the Dark Knight’s vengeful deeds. The result of this research explains that vengeful deeds of DC Comics’ Dark Knights represent Dark Tetrad according to various characteristics and reasons. The Devastator shows his vengeful Dark Tetrad against Superman and his values. Batman the Drowned indicates revengeful Dark Tetrad as protector of her land. Red Death underlines his Dark Tetrad to vengefully conquer time and space to defy death and destiny. The Merciless affirms his Dark Tetrad to wage revengeful war as human’s instinctive desire. Murder Machine performs his vengeful deeds by reviving Alfred and making him a hologram to terrorize people. The Dawnbreaker exposes his vengeful deeds by avenging villains and initiating Blackout throughout the city. Batman Who Laughs signifies his revenge under Dark Tetrad personality against the long fight between Batman and Joker.
